 The last-used settings and units will be retained after the ClimateDetector
is switched off.

Selecting temperature units

Briefly pressing the °C/°F button [9] will switch the temperature units be-
tween degrees Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).
The temperature unit is shown on the display [H].

Selecting the emission level

The measurement of surface temperature uses infrared technology, that is,
the infrared radiation of the surface is measured.
Since different materials exhibit different emissivity at the same tempera-
ture, the test results can be erroneous. In order to reduce errors in meas-
urement, the emissivity
Keep the test switch [3] pressed and then press the MODE button [11] to
change the value. The emissivity
lowing values:

= 0.75 metal (shiny), porcelain, paint (light)

= 0.85 metal (matte), ceramics, paint (dark), leather, paving stone

= 0.95 asphalt, concrete, soil, mortar, plaster of Paris, rubber, wood,
limestone, ceramics, gravel, plastics, paper, PVC, wallpaper,
carpet
 If the material to be checked is not listed above, use the list to select the
value most closely approximating the composition of the material.
 Accurate measurement of the surface temperature is possible only if the
emissivity of the object and the configured emissivity match.

Switching the speaker on and off

In addition to visual displays, the ClimateDetector also emits acoustical sig-
nals. These can be switched on or off by pressing the °C/°F button [9] for
more than 3 seconds.
The acoustical signal status is indicated by a speaker icon (crossed-out if off)
on the display [F].

Switching the laser on and off

The laser can be switched on and off by pressing the button [10]. A laser
symbol on the display [I] indicates that the laser is active.

Measuring

Pressing the test switch [3] starts the measurement. The word SCAN as well
as the readings [B, C] are continuously shown on the display [D].
With the switch pressed, you can measure continuously.
