SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS BATCHFLUX 3200 C 1.1 General notes These additional instructions apply to explosion-protected versions of electromagnetic flowmeters in type of protection encapsulation "mb", equipment category II 2 G, EPL Gb. It completes the installation and operating instructions for the non-explosion protected versions.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS BATCHFLUX 3200 C 1.4 Safety instructions If these instructions are not followed, there is a risk of explosion. Assembly, installation, start-up and maintenance may only be performed by personnel trained in explosion protection! CAUTION! The operator or his agent is responsible for observing any additional standards, directives or laws if required due to operating conditions or place of installation.
BATCHFLUX 3200 C 2.1 Device description The electromagnetic flowmeter BATCHFLUX 3200 C is designed exclusively for measuring the volumetric flowrate of electrically conductive non-flammable liquids. The typical installation is within the cabinet of an Ad Blue filling station. The equipment consists of a measuring tube with the process connections, an inner plastic housing where the complete electronic is placed and an outer stainless steel cover housing for protection purpose.
DEVICE DESCRIPTION BATCHFLUX 3200 C 2.3 Device category The electromagnetic flowmeter is designed in category II 2 G (EPL Gb) for use in zone 1 or zone 2. The inside of the measuring tube is neither permitted for zone 1 nor for zone 2.
DEVICE DESCRIPTION BATCHFLUX 3200 C 2.6 Electrical data The 24 VDC power supply circuit, the RS485 interface and the earth potential (housing) are galvanically conneted within the electromagnetic flowmeter. For both circuits the 24 VDC power supply and the RS485 interface a safety separation from hazardous voltage is required (SELV / PELV).
INSTALLATION BATCHFLUX 3200 C 3.1 Installation Installation and setup must be carried out according to the applicable installation standards (e.g. IEC 60079-14) by qualified personnel trained in explosion protection. The information given in the Installation and Operation Instructions and the Supplementary Installation and Operation Instructions must always be observed.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS BATCHFLUX 3200 C 4.1 General notes The circuits are not galvanically isolated from ground (housing). The connecting cable is in conformity with the applicable installation standard EN 60079-14. The temperature rating of the cable is equal to or better than -40 ... +90 °C.
OPERATION BATCHFLUX 3200 C 5.1 Start-up Start-up is only permitted when the electromagnetic flowmeter: • is correctly installed in the system and connected. • has been checked for the proper state with regard to its installation and connection requirements. • is free of explosive atmosphere inside the measuring tube The user of the system must check before start-up in compliance with the national regulations for checks before start-up.
SERVICE BATCHFLUX 3200 C 6.1 Maintenance Maintenance work of a safety-relevant nature within the meaning of explosion protection may only be carried out by the manufacturer, his authorised representative or under the supervision of authorised inspectors. To maintain proper condition, regular inspections are required for systems in hazardous areas.
