Care, maintenance and overhaul

8.1 Care by cleaning

The electric chain hoist must always be kept clean.
Use protective gloves!
NOTE!
Never use strong cleaning agents for any cleaning ta-
sks. This may damage or destroy the device.
All plastic and lacquered surfaces should be cleaned
using a soft, damp cloth and a neutral cleaning agent.
Remove any excess lubricant or leaked oil using a dry,
lint-free cloth.

8.2 Inspection, maintenance and repair / repair

Regular inspections should consider the following crite-
ria:
- Signs of loose screws.
- Outer notes for worn, corroded, cracked or distor-
ted hook mounting blocks, gears, bearings, chain-
stop ball and hook holder.
- External signs of damage or excessive wear of the
lift wheel. Widening and deepening of the pockets
may cause the chain to lift in the pockets and
cause a connection between the lift wheel and the
chain guide or between the lower pulley and the
hook block.
- Check the chain guide for wear or deburring when
the chain enters the hoist. Worn or damaged parts
should be replaced.
- External evidence of excessive wear of the brake
parts. Check the push buttons on the control unit to
make sure they work freely and spring back when
released.
- Check power cord, control cable and control pin for
damaged insulation.
- Check the chain pin or pin of the tail and the chain
stop for wear and tear.
All detected defects must be remedied before the hoist is
put back into service.

Checking the hooking condition
Hooks that are damaged by chemicals, deformations, or
cracks or that are angled more than 10 ° from the unbent
hook plane or have excessive neck opening indicate mi-
suse or overloading of the device.
Make sure the latch is not damaged or bent. It must hold
properly against the hook lip with sufficient spring pres-
sure. The latch must spring back when released into the
tip. If the latch does not work properly, it should be re-
placed.
The chain with one of these defects must be replaced:
Notches, grooves, twisted joints, weld spatter, corrosion
holes, streaks, cracks in weld areas, wear and stretch.
Lubricate the chain with 3 # calcium grease after 200 cy-
cles. The life of the chain is 50,000 cycles.
Loosen the part of the chain that is normally passed over
the lift wheel.
Examine the pontics area at the point of maximum wear.
Measure and note the material diameter at this point of
connection. Then measure the stock at the diameter in
the same area of a connection area that does not go
over the lift wheel.
(Use the link next to the loose end link for this purpose).
Compare these two measurements. When the stock dia-
meter of the worn joint is 0.254 mm (or more).
Less than the bearing diameter of the unsupported joint,
the chain must be replaced.
The chain length of the EKZT 301-1 hoist is 3 meters and
it has 200 knots. Fig. 6 shows the specific dimensions of
the chain.
