Intended use

25. Pay close attention so that there is no accidental
contact with other hoists, structures or objects.
26. The hoist must not be used in an explosive atmo-
sphere.
27. The value of the equivalent acoustic emission pres-
sure level at the operator is less than 78 dB.
28. Power supply: Voltage 230V ± 10%, frequency 50Hz
± 1%.
29. The hoist is used at a relative humidity of less than
85% and a height above sea level of less than 1000
meters.
30. The transport and storage temperature of the hoist
may be above -25 ° C below 55 ° C.
31. The hoist must be equipped with a 10 A fuse or a 10
A circuit breaker to protect your electrical system.
32. Do not try to lift a fastened or inserted load.
33. Do not lift the load at an angle.
34. Avoid excessive twitching (resulting in a short engine
shock).

2.7 Safety marking on the electric chain hoist

The following safety marking is attached to the electric
chain hoist (fig. 1), which must be observed and follo-
wed.

The safety labels attached to the electric chain hoist
must not be removed. Damaged or missing safety mar-
kings can lead to malfunctions, personal injury and mate-
rial damage. They are to be replaced immediately.
If the safety markings are not immediately recognizable
and comprehensible, the electric chain hoist must be ta-
ken out of service until new safety markings have been
affixed.

2.8 Check

Hoist chains are testable suspension elements. These
are therefore the guidelines issued by the German Em-
ployers' Liability Insurance Association, Zentralstelle für

Unfallverhütung for round steel chains in hoist operation,
the inspection guidelines and the test specifications ac-
cording to DIN 685 part 5 Nov. 1981, UVV, BGV D8
(VBG 8 April 1997) and UVV, BGV D6 (VBG 9 April
2001) and DIN EN 818-7 dated September 2002.
The entry in the crane test book must be made via re-
pairs and tests carried out (eg adjusting work on brake or
clutch).

Intended use
The electric chain hoist must only be used for lifting, lo-
wering and moving free-moving loads weighing up to the
maximum specified load.
The electric chain hoist may be operated only by per-
sonnel who have been trained in its use.
The proper use also includes observing all indications in
these operating instructions. Any use beyond the proper
use or any other use is regarded as misuse. Under no
circumstances may personnel be lifted.
Stürmer Maschinen GmbH accepts no liability for any
constructional or technical modifications carried out on
the electric chain hoist.
Any claims due to damages because of intended use are
excluded.

3.1 Foreseeable misuse

With the electric chain hoist, if the intended use is obser-
ved, no reasonably foreseeable misuse is possible,
which could lead to dangerous situations with personal
injury.

3.2 Residual risks

Even if all safety regulations are observed a residual risk
in the operation of the of the chain hoistwill remain, as
described below.
All persons working with the chain hoist must be aware
of these residual risks and follow the instructions which
prevent any accidents or damage caused by these re-si-
dual risks.
- Risk of crushing of upper and lower limbs while
equipment is operating.
- During set-up and adjustment works it may be-
come necessary to remove safety devices in-stal-
led by the customer. This causes different re-sidual
risks and hazard potentials each operator must be
aware of.
