Operation
ATTENTION!
- Do not carry people on the chain hoist
- Do not transport loads over the heads of personnel
- Do not move loads which exceed the maximum
load-bearing capacity of the chain hoist (see type
plate).
- The chain hoist must not be used for moving jam-
med or wedged loads..
- Loads may not be pulled obliquely.
- Avoid over-use of jog control (repeated short im-pul-
ses to the motor).
- Do not change the direction of movement suddenly.
- In order to prevent accidents and to minimise strain
on the chain hoist, never leave a heavy load sus-
pended for a lengthy period of time.
- Do not allow any load to be pressed against the
hook latch. The latch is designed to help hold the
hook in place while the chain is slack before the
sleep chain is picked up.
Head protection must be worn!
Use protective gloves!
Use protective boots!
Wear protective clothes!
NOTE!
- Operating personnel must be familiar with the oper-
ation and functions of the chain hoist and the safety
regulations pertaining to it.
- The operator is responsible for ensuring that all op-
erating personnel have had the necessary training.

7.2 Electrical connection

DANGER!
Danger to life due to electrical
voltage!
There is an imminent danger of life in case of con-
tact with life components by electrocution.
- The chain hoist must only be connected by a quali-
fied electrician.
- Work on the electrical system may only be carried
out by qualified electricians.
Step 1: Check if the mains voltage complies with the ten-
sion indicated on the type plate.
Malfunction with wrong mains voltage:
- Noise lifting due to brake and / or contactor chatter.
- Heating the hoist motor and other internal compo-
nents and heating wires and connectors in the cir-
cuit supplying the hoist.
- Failure of the hoist to lift the load due to stalling of
the engine.
- Slowing down the motors connected to the same
circuit.
Step 2: Connect the mains cable to the power supply sy-
stem.
Step 3: Press the control bar button and check the func-
tion of the electric chain hoist.
Step 4: If the chain hoist fails to move (phase sequence
safety device has been activated), switch off the
safety device and correct the phase sequence.

7.3 Test run

Before using the chain hoist to lift a load, a no-load test
should be carried out to test all functions. In particular,
the function of the raising and lowering limits should be
tested.

7.4 Raising a load

Step 1: Check if the EMERGENCY STOP switch is pres-
sed. Press and turn the EMERGENCY STOP
switch to unlock it.
Step 2: Hook the hook of the chain hoist to a suitable lif-
ting point of the load and check that the safety of
the hook is closed.
