Exhaust System
General
The exhaust system on a sound suppressed truck
exits from the back of the machine. There are two
exhaust pipes wrapped with heat blankets (1,
Figure 30-1) that carry the exhaust to muffler (2),
located in between the chassis rails. The muffler is
designed to allow for more sound attenuation.
The exhaust system will be hot after engine has been
running. Wait until the exhaust system and other hot
parts have had sufficient time to cool before perform-
ing any work to the exhaust system.
Maintenance
Refer to the Sound Attenuation System Service sec-
tion for service requirements.
