When using the delivery bed as part of the medical system, certain elements (medical devices) may interact. Before this application it is necessary to follow recommendations provided in the user manual of the delivery bed AVE2. General instructions Birthing Bed is intended for use in the Application Environment 5 (according to IEC 60601-2-52).
5 Intended use Birthing bed is designed to be used by mothers-to-be for vaginal delivery. The birthing bed is designed to enable different birthing positions in all delivery birthing stages including postpartum period. User population ► Pregnant women during ambulant and stationary pregnancy check-ups and/or in all labor stages and her companions.
6 General safety CAUTION! Birthing Bed is not primarily intended for newborns. For this case there is a special cot which comes as a separate medical device. It is assumed that the position of the baby during breast-feeding is under the constant control of the mother and thus any uncontrollable movement of a newborn on the bed is improbable.

Mechanical safety CAUTION! No objects that may collide with the bed (furniture, stands etc.) may be located near it (20 cm minimum). 8 Operating the bed CAUTION! The birthing bed is not designed for permanent operation – motors can only be loaded up to the values defined on the label, i.e. 2 minutes of operation followed by 18 minutes of stand by. Excess workload of the device may result in automatic stop.

8.5.2 Lifting/lowering The surface of the completely pulled out foot section may be lifted up to the level of the seat. According to the principles of good hygienic practice, the cleaning and disinfection of the delivery room, its equipment and all the medical devices used, must be made directly and promptly after the delivery (birth) in order to prepare the equipment for a new delivery. These principles apply also to the cleaning and disinfection of the delivery bed.
