13.1

Calling up the service menu.

To access the service menu of the control unit, first the control unit must
be selected:
▶ Observe chapter 3.2, page 6.
13.2

Information on the control unit main menu

This function can be used to save control unit data to a USB stick
(accessory), or transfer data from a USB stick to the control.
▶ Plug USB stick into the USB connection Control 8310
( Fig 1, [9], page 5).
▶ Call up Control 8310 via the master control unit.
With several control units:
▶ Select the control unit from which the data should be saved.
▶ Call up service menu and tap Control unit menu item.
The following functions can be executed:
• Save service report on USB stick
• Save configuration to USB stick
• Load appliance config. from USB stick
• Save backup copy of appliance configuration
• Load backup copy of appliance config.
• Save system info on USB stick
The fault history and a data recording are also saved with the system
information.
Each of these functions are accompanied by additional function-specific
prompts.
▶ Observe the documents of the master control unit.
13.3

Service adapter (accessory)

The display can be mirrored (displayed) on a PC via the USB port
( Figure 1, [9], page 5) and a USB to IP service adapter.
This allows the control unit to be operated using a PC via a Web browser
in order to check or modify settings in the main menu, service menu or
substations.
Preconditions:
• Service adapter USB / IP (accessory) available
• Network cable available
• Internet browser available (Mozilla Firefox recommended)
• DHCP enabled
Activating DHCP service adapter address assignment
▶ Call up the service menu and select menu item Connectivity >
Address assignment > DHCP
▶ Save is displayed instead of this menu item.
▶ Plug service adapter into the USB port ( Figure 1, [9], page 5).
▶ Connect the LAN cable between the adapter and the RJ-45 port of
the computer.
▶ Open the browser (preferred Firefox) and enter "cbc.bosch"
in the search bar.
The control panel of the control unit is mirrored (displayed)
on the computer.
▶ Once the mirroring (display) has ended, empty the cache
(buffer storage) of the computer.
The control unit can only be operated by one person.
Simultaneous operation at the PC and the control unit must be avoided.
The last change made applies.
▶ Observe the safety guidelines for networks.

It is not necessary to install the driver supplied on the USB / IP adapter.
13.4

Update of control unit software for Control 8310

13.4.1 Notice regarding systems containing several networked
control units, e.g. control unit extensions, cascades
If the existing control units in a network are connected, they must be
disconnected before performing the software update:
▶ Call up service menu and tap Connectivity menu item.
▶ With Disconnect control unit coupling, tap Activate.
A prompt dialogue box appears.
▶ Tap box for Resume after long power down.
▶ Disconnect the control unit coupling on all control units.
A display that indicates whether or not the control units have been
disconnected is not available.
To check whether all control units are separate, perform the following
steps in the system overview:
▶ Tap

The connected control units are displayed.
▶ Perform software update for all control units.
▶ Perform control unit coupling ( Chapter 11.2.2, page 15).
13.5

Save and load device configuration

To save the device configuration on a digital data carrier (USB stick),
the respective control unit must be selected via the master control unit.
The storage procedure is performed on the master control unit.
▶ Observe the instructions in the master control unit.
13.6

Fault elimination and troubleshooting

Faults relating to the control unit are indicated by the LED status display
and displayed in the master control unit in the fault history.
▶ Observe the malfunction notices in the master control unit.
Troubleshooting
Faults occurring on the control unit, are automatically reset once the fault
has been rectified.
