Noise Emission Control Labels
For vehicles manufactured for operation in the United
States, an EPA noise emission control label, as
shown in
Fig.
1.15, is applied to attest that the
vehicle conforms to United States EPA regulations
for noise.
For vehicles manufactured for operation in Mexico, a
Normas Oficiales Mexicanas (NOM) vehicle noise
emission control label, as shown in
that the vehicle conforms to Mexican NOM
regulations for noise.
For vehicles manufactured for dual Mexico/United
States operation, both labels are applied.
It is the owner's responsibility to maintain the vehicle
so it conforms to all applicable regulations (EPA,
NOM).
IMPORTANT: Certain Freightliner incomplete
vehicles may be produced for the United States
market with incomplete noise control hardware.
