Connecting to the 8400 via a Terminal Program on a PC

The procedure in step 2 on page 2-44 provides a simple means to regain access to an
8400 from which you are locked out. You can also do this via a PC running a terminal
program like HyperTerminal.
To maintain security, you can only administer the 8400 through Serial Port #2 for 30
minutes after the 8400 has been powered up or after the last command is received. How-
ever, there is no timeout for the "recall preset" functionality.
Connect an available RS232 serial port (COM port) on your computer to Serial

You do not need to remove power from either your computer or the 8400
when you do this.
