Accessing CLI through a Serial Console

To access the command line interface via a serial console, follow the steps below.
1. Connect a PC serial port to the switch console port.
2. In the PC, open any serial port access applications, such as Hyperterminal or TeraTerm.
3. Choose the serial port connected with the switch and configure with the following
parameters:
Baudrate = 115200
Data bits = 8
Parity = None
Stop bit = 1
4. This brings up the switch's command line interface for user login.
5. Enter the default username (admin) and password (YourPaSsWoRd), then change your
new password to login to the switch.

Accessing CLI through an SSH

SSE-G3748 allows CLI access over SSH via both out-of-band management and in-band
management as mentioned below.
1. Out-of-band management: Connect the management port ("eth0", the RJ45 port next to
console port) to a network. Using serial console read the IP address assigned to eth0.
The PC must be able to ping the IP address configured on "eth0". Now, SSH can be
established from the PC to SSE-G3748.
2. In-band management: Connect any of the data port to a network. Using serial console
read the IP address assigned to the data port. The PC must be able to ping the IP
address configured on data port. Now, SSH can be established from the PC.
