Fax support
Any Remote Office Guide that discusses configuring data capability for PBX
ports associated with fax calls is incorrect. In all cases, you must configure voice
capability on PBX ports associated with fax calls.
Page 47 of the Remote Office 9150 Installation and Administration Guide
(NTP 555-8421-215) includes the following sentence:
Faxes are sent uncompressed (that is, you require 64 Kbps of
bandwidth).
Disregard this sentence. It is incorrect.
Page 82 of the Remote Office 9150 Installation and Administration Guide
(NTP 555-8421-215) includes instructions for "Port and station assignment".
The first paragraph is missing the following concluding sentence:
This includes the analog port and the stations using ATAs.
Page 82 of the Remote Office 9150 Installation and Administration Guide
(NTP 555-8421-215) includes the following statement:
Exception: You must assign the fax machine and stations that use
ATAs or MCAs for data transmission to ports that are configured
on the host PBX with data capability.
This statement is incorrect. The correct statement reads as follows:
Exception:.You must assign stations that use MCAs for data
transmission to ports that are configured on the host PBX with
data capability.
Page 224 of the Remote Office 9150 Installation and Administration Guide
(NTP 555-8421-215) provides a table that includes the following sentence:
"If G.729/Fax or G.711 compression is being used and the call is
a fax call, then the fax call is sent as 64 Kbps".
This statement is incorrect. The correct information is as follows:
