4.2 BATTERY
The machine is equipped with a Li-Ion battery with a high density
of charge, which guarantees a long operation time, and reduced
weight. The battery is equipped with an innovative electronic
control system (Battery Management System) that constantly
monitors the environmental conditions and the power required in
order to always offer the best and most economical performance.
To switch ON the battery, see chap. 5.2. The battery has dry
elements so as far as this power unit is concerned, there are no
limitation for the slope.
IMPORTANT:
The life of the battery depend from the environment temperature, the conditions of
charge (time, temperature) and the condition of storage (State Of Charge, temperature,
time period). To preserve for a long time the performance of the battery, it is important to
follow the recommendation of this manual.
The Battery is a NMC type which grant 700 charging cycles with a residual charge
capacity of 75%. The charge capacity is due to a degradation of the electrodes which
increase the internal resistance. The degradation is proportional to the temperature
reached by the battery during charge, operations and storage.
4.2.1 BATTERY CHARGER (Fig.8)
The charger is integral part of the machine and it is design to
perform the battery charging cycle according to the battery cell
manufacturer reccomandation in order to preserve the good
performance of the battery for a longer life. There is a CanBus
connection between BMS and charger in order to follow a

specific charging cycle. Even during recharging, the battery is
always isolated from the mains in order to keep the user safe
from electric shock. In case the charger is defective, do not
attempt to charge the battery with a different device.

4.2.2 BATTERY PROTECTION

The battery has several controls of the charge level and
temperatures of the individual cells with a balancing program
between them. It also has three levels of safety devices for
interrupting the power supply in the event of an external
malfunction or short circuit.
Inside the battery there is also a 200A fuse that opens the
circuit in case of overcurrent.

DANGER:
If the battery does not work, do not try to open the case. This operation requires a
specialized technician as an incorrect action can cause internal combustion and
explosion with the release of toxic and corrosive liquids.
