Deep discharge shortens the service life of the battery significantly,
or the battery may also be damaged by the deep discharge.
Batteries should be stored upright, in dry, frost-free conditions.
As soon as the range with fully-charged batteries starts to decrease
significantly, you should replace the batteries.

batteries. You may endanger yourself and others by
stopping unexpectedly.

7.3.2. Replacing the batteries

When working on the batteries be extremely careful, avoid using metal

tools, touching the battery terminals and follow the manufacturer's
instructions.
Warning! This work should only be carried out by
experts. There is danger of fatal injury!
Only use batteries which are approved for this wheelchair (see Chapter
53.
6).
Make sure that the wheelchair is switched off, before you start to re-
place the batteries.
First loosen the rear part of the cover of the battery compartment
by pulling the cover to the back (Fig. 50).
The push the cover of the battery compartment below the seat
upwards (Fig. 51). Now pull the cover backwards out of the wheel-
chair.
Remove the screw on the front of the bar and then pull the batter-

ies out using the grab bar (see Fig. 52)
Loosen the belt strap
First loosen the red, then the black battery cable.
Lift the batteries out carefully.
Lift the new batteries into the designated space and connect the
contacts. Note the correct colour coding (red and black).
Secure the batteries with the belt strap and push the battery com-
partment back into its initial position, it will click back into place
automatically. Fix the screw back onto the grab bar. Put the battery
cover back on.
If the service life of the batteries has expired, i.e. they
can no longer be charged sufficiently, you must not
dispose of the batteries with household waste. When
you buy new batteries, old batteries will be taken
back by the dealer and disposed of properly!

7.3.3. Battery, fuses

The power circuit is protected by 2 types of fuse.
The overload protection (Fig. 54A) is triggered when the wheelchair
is overloaded. Wait until the motor system of the wheelchair cools
down a bit and press the button of overload protection back down.
Before continuing to drive, make sure that the wheelchair is not
overloaded.
The safety fuses in the power circuit of the wheelchair (Fig. 54B)
serve as further protection of the power circuit. If the wheelchair
does not work when the overload protection is pressed, please
check the safety fuses.
To do this remove the protective cap of the fuse (Fig. 54B).
Before continuing to drive, make sure that the wheelchair is not
overloaded. Ask your dealer to try to establish the cause.
