How to test a Remote IP connection:

For a remote system to connect to a local (host) system, the local (host) system needs
to be "connectable" to.
To test this, you will need to gather some info as follows:
l) On the local (host) system, in the Digital Video Monitor System (DVS) software click
on Help > About Digital Video Security System.
ll) In the About Digital Video Security... window you will see the following pertinent
information
Version number: _______________
IP Address: ________________
As of this writing, the latest version of the DVS software is 1.20.145. If you are not
running this version, please go to the section labeled
software" later in this document.
lll) Once you have the local (host) system's IP Address, go to the computer that will
be used as the remote system.
lV) Click on Start menu, and then click on Run.
V) The Run dialog box will open. In the Open: line type "cmd" and click on OK.
