To add a new PLU to the Digi SM-5300 system:
1. On the scale, view the list of existing PLUs. 2. Identify a missing PLU number (e.g., 6 is missing between 5 and 7). 3. Press the missing number. It will appear on the right side. 4. Press the “POU” button to prompt the scale to create a new item. 5. Select “Yes” to confirm. 6. Fill in the fields: - Enter the item name (e.g., Fresh Tomato) using the touchpad, then press Enter. - Scroll to and select the “Unit Price” field, then enter the price (e.g., $15). - Ensure the item is set to “weight by kg” if it is a weighted item. - Enter the cost (e.g., $10 per pound). 7. Scroll to the “Label” field to add secondary information if needed (e.g., used-by date, nutritional table).
