Defaults Menu – Print Settings – Setup Menu(continued)
Menu item
Purpose
Print Timeout
To specify the amount of time (in
seconds) the MFP waits before
printing the last page of a print job
that does not end with a command
to print the page. The print timeout
counter does not start until
Waiting is displayed.
Resource Save
To determine what the MFP does
with downloaded resources, such
as fonts and macros stored in
RAM, if the MFP receives a job
that requires more memory than is
available.
Wait Timeout
To specify the amount of time (in
seconds) the MFP waits to receive
additional bytes of data from the
computer. When this timeout
expires, the print job is canceled.
Wait Timeout is only available
when you use PostScript
emulation. This menu item has no
effect on PCL emulation print jobs.

The MFP does not print
the last page of a print
job until one of the
following occurs:
• The MFP receives
enough information to
fill the page.
• The MFP receives a
Form Feed command.
The MFP prints the last
page after the specified
time.
MFP retains
downloaded resources
only until memory is
needed. It then deletes
those resources
associated with the
inactive printer
emulation.
MFP retains all
downloaded resources
for all printer emulations
during language
changes and MFP
resets. If the MFP runs
out of memory, 38
Memory Full is
displayed.
Disables Wait Timeout.
Specifies the amount of
time the MFP waits for
additional data before it
cancels the job.
