Standardization & Calibration
This chapter provides instructions on how to use the NI-FBUS
Configurator menus to standardize and calibrate the LevelPRO for level
measurement.
Note For detailed discussion on standardization and calibration, reference
the LevelPRO user guide.
Note It is best practice to empty the tank and standardize during the initial
setup process; however, if the situation is such that the vessel cannot be
emptied, refer to "Calibration when Vessel Cannot Be Emptied" in the
standard LevelPRO user guide.
Follow this procedure to perform standardization:
1. Empty the tank entirely or to a level that is well below the bottom of
both the source and detector.
2. Open the shutter(s).
Note The shutter(s) will need to be open and the vessel empty (maximum
radiation on the detector) for at least 30 minutes prior to performing the
standardization or calibration cycle. This wait time is necessary for proper
orientation of the gauge.
3. In the NI-FBUS Configurator, go to AI_TRANSDUCER > Root
Menu > LevelPro setup > 1 Main Measurement > 2 Standardization >
Standardization.
