v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action
column until the problem is solved.
v See Chapter 3, "Parts listing, Type 3020," on page 23 to determine which
components are CRUs and which components are FRUs.

components of the DPI blade. If you are not sure whether a problem is caused
by the hardware or by the software, you can use the diagnostic programs to
confirm that the hardware is working correctly.
Action
v
To run the diagnostics application from the Web
Management Interface on the ASM, click
Configuration → App Manager→ DPPM, select the file
pn41_diag.csa and click Commit now.
To generate test packets while you run the DPI blade
diagnostic program, you must use a packet. When the
first packet is detected by the DPI blade diagnostic
program, it generates test packets through the various
data paths on the system.
v To view statistics that are generated by the tool, click
Software → Variable Export.
v If the counters on the Variable Export screen are not
incrementing, you can attach a notebook computer to
the SFP-module port and send a ping to initialize the
DPI blade diagnostics program.
Note: None of the error counters should be
incrementing.
v If there are errors, restart the ASM and run the test
again.
v Reseat the DPI blade and run the diagnostic test
again.
v If errors remain, there is a hardware problem, and the
DPI blade must be repaired.
The diagnostic application runs until it is terminated. Run
the application for approximately 3 minutes to get
accurate results.
v To stop the test, select the Test_Loop_Flag check
box and click Clear Selected. After the test is
terminated, you can start another application. You
must stop the diagnostic test before you start another
application.
