IBM BladeCenter PN41 Type 3020 Deep Packet Inspection Blade: Problem Determination and Service Guide
v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action
column until the problem is solved.
v See Chapter 3, "Parts listing, Type 3020," on page 23 to determine which
components are CRUs and which components are FRUs.
v If an action step is preceded by "(Trained service technician only)," that step must
be performed only by a trained service technician.
Symptom
DPPM CPOS was not fully
downloaded to the DPPM
DPPM RAVE application cannot
start
Action
1. To determine whether the CloudShield PacketWorks
Operating System (CPOS) download was completed,
click General → System. If the DPPM status is
Connecting and the DPPM status information is
Waiting for DPPM Ping Response, the download was
not completed. To complete the download, complete
the following steps:
v Make sure that the CIN and VLANs are configured
correctly (see the Installation and User's Guide for
more information).
v Check the advanced management module event
log for a Blade failed message.
v Reseat the DPPM.
v Turn off the ASM and turn it on again.
v Click Hardware → Reboot/Power → DPPM to verify
that the DPPM is turned on. Click the General tab
to verify the status.
v Click General → System to verify that the
download was completed.
Click General → System. If the application state of the
RAVE application is Failed, complete the following steps:
1. Check the event and alarm log on the General page
in the Web Management Interface for errors that are
related to the discovery process.
2. Turn off the DPPM, turn it on again, and click
General → System to verify the status
3. Turn off the ASM and turn it on again.
