Notes for servicing and
operating personnel
The operating instructions contain funda-
mental safety notes that must be observed
during
commissioning,
servicing. Non-observance can cause:
Personal hazard due to electrical,

mechanical and chemical eff ects.
Hazard to nearby equipment.

Failure of important functions.

Hazard to the environment due to

the leakage of dangerous materials.
Prior to commissioning
Read the operating instructions.

Provide adequate training for the

assembly and operating personnel.
Ensure that the contents of the operating
G
instructions have been fully understood
by the responsible personnel.
Defi ne the areas of responsibility.

During operation
Keep the operating instructions
G
available at the place of use.
Observe the safety notes.

Use only in accordance with the
G
operational data.
Any servicing work and repairs not
G
described in the operating instructions
may not be performed without previous
consultation with the manufacturer.
DANGER
Strictly observe the safety data sheets
or the safety regulations valid for the
media used.
In case of uncertainty
Consult the nearest GEMÜ sales offi ce.

Warning notes

Wherever possible, warning notes are
organised
according
scheme:
SIGNAL WORD
Type and source of the danger
® Possible consequences of
non-observance.
Measures for avoiding danger.

Warning notes are always marked with a
signal word and sometimes also with a
symbol for the specifi c danger.
The following signal words and danger levels
are used:
DANGER
Imminent danger!
® Non-observance will lead to death or
severe injury.
WARNING
A possibly dangerous situation!
® Non-observance can cause death or
severe injury.
CAUTION (WITHOUT SYMBOL)
A possibly dangerous situation!
® Non-observance can cause damage to
property.
