Roller ring unit

9.9.1
Servicing of SteelRunner
Never dismantle a packer ring unit with steel
rings. The unit has been pressed together with a
force of 4 tonnes. Any attempt to dismantle it
risks causing injury. If you need to have the unit
dismantled, contact your dealer, as special tools
are required.

Other than greasing bearings, the packer units do not
usually require any maintenance. Packer units feature
auto-tensioners.

Wheels

9.10.1
Check and adjustment of play in wheel
bearings
It is vital that play in wheel bearings are checked after the
first season and on a regular basis thereafter.
1. Raise the wheel off the ground.

2. Check that the wheel hub is free of play. In the case
that there is play, the bearing must be tightened.

3. Disassemble the wheel hub cap (A), undo the roll pin
(B) that holds the castle nut (C) in place, and tighten
the castle nut with a hand tool until the play
disappears.

4. The wheel should turn easily with no play.

5. Lock the castle nut (C) using the roll pin (B). Clean,
lubricate and refit the hub cap (A).
