Siderails are designed to keep a patient from inadvertently rolling off the bed. It is the responsibility of the attending medical personnel to determine the degree of restraint necessary to ensure a patient will remain safely in bed.

Chapter 1: The Sunflower Operations Manual Cleaning Beds • Hand wash all surfaces of the bed with a soft cloth moistened with a solution of lukewarm water and a mild detergent. • Wipe the bed clean and dry thoroughly to avoid build up of cleaning solution. Mattress Care Failure to properly clean mattress covers or dispose of defective mattress will increase the risk of exposure to pathogenic substances which may cause injury to the patient or user.

Chapter 2: The Sunflower Operations Manual The Removable Pendant Control Pendant controls with varied combinations of bed function commands give access to the bed Fowler and/or Knee Gatch and/or Hi-Lo functions. These commands will function once the power switch is turned on. They can be selectively locked out using the lockout controls described above.
