Shut down and disconnect the system

Prerequisites
Establish a connection to the system as described in
page 14.
About this task
Complete the following steps to shut down and disconnect the system.
Steps
1. Stop the system using the system poweroff command to allow the proper shut down of the file system and other system
components. The power down process takes approximately five minutes to complete. The system poweroff command
immediately turns the front panel blue LED to amber, and is complete when the front panel LED turns off.
NOTE:
The system fans still run, and NIC port LEDs still flash after running the system poweroff command.
2. Open the cable management arms.
3. Disconnect the AC power cords from the rear of the system.

Extend the system from the cabinet

Use this procedure to extend the system from the cabinet so that you can remove the system cover to access the internal FRU
components, or to remove the system from the cabinet.
Steps
1. At the front of the cabinet, locate the two slam latches on the left and right sides of the system. Pull the slam latches up to
release the system from the cabinet. If the slam latches do not disengage, loosen the screw under each latch.
2. Using the slam latches, pull the system from the cabinet until the rails lock in the extended position.
