Disposal
Most of the materials from which Hilti tools and appliances are manufactured can be recycled. The
materials must be correctly separated before they can be recycled. In many countries, your old tools,
machines or appliances can be returned to Hilti for recycling. Ask Hilti Service or your Hilti representative
for further information.

C.I.P. test confirmation
The following applies to C.I.P. member states outside the EU and EFTA judicial areas: The Hilti DX 76
has been system and type tested. As a result, the tool bears the rectangular PTB approval mark showing
approval number S 813. Hilti thus guarantees compliance with the approved type.

Possible cause
Trigger pulled before the tool is
fully pressed down
Fastener transport malfunctions
Fastening tool is damaged
The magazine or fastener guide is
not screwed on far enough.
Fastening tool was not cycled cor-
rectly, the cycling grip is not in the
starting position
No fastener inserted in the tool
Magazine nail transport mecha-
nism is faulty
No piston inserted in the tool
The piston is broken
Piston does not return
Fastener guide is dirty
Fasteners jammed in the fastener
guide
Fastener guide is dirty
Piston stopper is installed the
wrong way round.
Fastening tool, especially the pis-
ton guide, is dirty

Action to be taken
▶ Press the fastening tool fully
against the work surface and
then pull the trigger.
▶ Remove the fastener strip.
▶ Check the fastener strip for
damage.
▶ Replace damaged fastener
strips.
▶ Contact Hilti Service.
▶ Screw the magazine tighter.
▶ Cycle the fastening tool com-
pletely and set the cycling grip
to the starting position.
▶ Insert a fastener into the
fastening tool.
▶ Contact Hilti Service.
▶ Insert the piston into the
fastening tool.
▶ Change the piston and the
piston brake.
▶ Contact Hilti Service.
▶ Service the tool.
▶ Remove jammed fasteners.
Remove plastic residues from
the tool magazine. Avoid shear
breakages and misfires.
▶ Service the tool.
▶ Unscrew the fastener guide.
Install the piston stopper right
way round and screw the piston
guide back on.
▶ Service the tool.
▶ Pull the cycling lever back until
the pins can engage.
