Problem
Only one side of the LCD is
operational, or nothing is visible,
but the QRS sound is audible the
ECG signal connected to the input
can be printed.
The device does not turn on.
The keys or at least some keys are
not operational.
The device cannot be
reprogrammed.

Possible causes
The cable between the Interface
Board and the Main Board is
damaged.
The Main Board is damaged.
The LCD is damaged.
The batteries are completely
discharged.
The battery-protecting fuse has
burned out.
The battery is damaged.
The cable to the power switch is
damaged.
The connection to the power switch
has slipped off.
The soldering is not satisfactory.
The cables are not connected or are
damaged.
The keyboard card,
or the Main Board or Interface
Board is damaged.
The reed-tube in the device is
broken (cannot switch to boot
mode with the magnet at the
specified place in the device).
The serial cable is damaged or
incorrect PC serial port setting.

Solutions
Check the connecting ribbon cable, the
soldering on the LCD, and the
connection at the end of the ribbon
cable.
Check the battery and it charge state,
and the fuse.
In case of replacing the fuse, try to
find the reason for the burn-on and fix
it.
Check the battery.
If it cannot be fixed, replace it.
Check the cables and the connections.
Check the soldering on the digital part
of the Main Board. Resolder the IC's
with the exception of the processor.
If it cannot be repaired, replace the
card.
Check the cables and connections.
Check the keys according to the
connection diagram.
If any of them are damaged, replace
the keyboard.
Check the Main Board and the
Interface Board with another
keyboard.
Check the soldering and the keyboard
control signals on the Main Board and
the Interface Board.
If it cannot be repaired, replace the
damaged card.
After disassembling the device, check
the tube. If necessary, replace it.
(If no replacement tube is available,
temporarily reconnecting the reed-tube
places the device into programming
mode.)
Check the serial cable and the PC, and
the download software settings.
