You can remove the base plate to get a better view of the cutting area when you saw with 2 people.
Use the following procedure to remove the base
plate:
1. Remove the saw band from the machine.

2. Loosen the wing screw (21) to detach the
base plate from its bracket.
3. Remove the base plate.
4. Reinsert the saw band.
Base plate removed.

Use the following procedure to put the base
plate back on:
1. Remove the saw band from the machine.

2. Reinsert the base plate into the guide and
tighten the wing screw (21).
3. Reinsert the saw band.

Service and maintenance

MAFELL machines are of a low-maintenance design.
The installed ball bearings are lubricated for life. After a longer period of operation, MAFELL recommends that
the machine be handed over to an authorized MAFELL service workshop for inspection.
Remove accumulated dust from the machine at regular intervals. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the ventilation
openings at the motor.
The resin on the band saw rolls used in the machine should be removed at regular intervals. To remove the
resin, soak the chain fitting for 24 hours in kerosene or a commercially available resin-removing agent.
