Maintenance
Setting the laser, fig. 23 + 24
Clamp a drill bit in the chuck (12). The laser forms
a crosshair in the centre of the drill. If the laser line
does not meet in the centre of the drill, the laser must
be adjusted.
Position the drilling table (4) as close as possible to
the drill. Loosen the locknuts (G). It is possible to ad-
just the laser lines by turning the adjustment screws
(H) on both sides.
Set the laser lines such that they cross in the middle
of the drill tip.
Adjusting the spindle retaining spring, Fig. 25
It may be necessary for the spindle retaining spring to
be adjusted because of changed tension, making the
spindle return too quickly or too slowly.
1. To provide more space, lower the table.
2. Work on the left side of the drill.
3. Put a screwdriver in the front lower notch (L),
keeping it in place.
4. Remove the outer locknut (O) with a flat spanner
(SW19).
5. Leaving the screwdriver in the notch, loosen the
inner locknut (N) until the cut-out (K) is released
from the boss (P). WARNING! Spring is under
tension!
6. Using the screwdriver, carefully turn the spring cap
(M) anti-clockwise until you can press the notch
into the boss (P).
7. Lower the spindle to the lowest position and hold
the spring cap (M) in place. When the spindle
moves up and down as desired, retighten the
inner locknut (N).
8. If it is too loose, repeat steps 3-5. If it is too tight,
repeat in reverse order.
9. Using a flat spanner, tighten the outer locknut (O)
against the inner locknut (N).
NOTE: Do not over-tighten and do not restrict the
movement of the spindle!
