7.4 Replacing a broken return spring

Remove the clip in the centre of the pulley. Re-
move the spacer and the pulley. See figure 3a.

Remove the broken cassette and replace it with a
new one.

Replace the spacer and the clip in the centre of the
starter pulley. Load the return spring, see Tension-
ing the return spring . See also the
the starter chapter.
7.5 Starter assembly

Position the starter against the crankcase and
tighten the screws at a tightening torque of
3-4 m.
