To install the R30XLT Assist Tower:
1. Unpack the R30XLT Assist Tower, including the Parts Box.
CAUTION
2. Open the Parts Box and remove the five black Bolts. 3 ea. M12 x 25 and 2 ea. M12 x 20.
3. Use an appropriate lifting device, such as a Forklift, Shop Crane, or Garage Hoist, to raise the
Assist Tower and
The Assist Tower Cross Beam is a good place to lift the Assist Tower.
4. Align the holes in the top of the R980XR Main Tower with the holes in the bottom of the Assist
Tower Bolt Plate.

5. Bolt the two holes in the rear using the two shorter Bolts M12 x 20 and the two
the front using two M12 x 25 Bolts (you cannot access the one middle Bolt hole yet).
You should have one M12 x 25 Bolt left.
6. Pull down the Release Handle and swing the Assist Tower's Cross Beam away from the Assist
Tower Bolt Plate.
This gives you access to the last Bolt hole, which is inside the Bolt Plate.
7. Bolt the hole inside the Bolt Plate with the remaining longer Bolt.
8. Open the Parts Box and remove the New Air Hose, which is a coiled length of black Tubing with a
Straight Connector on one end and a Tee Connector on the other end.
9. Remove the Side Panel of the R980XR Tire Changer.
The Side Panel is on the left side if you are looking at the front of the Tire Changer.
10. On the inside of the Tire Changer, locate the short Tubing piece that goes between two of the foot
pedal mechanisms.
