GENERAL
SCOPE
The information in this instruction manual
covers the installation, operation, and
maintenance of the following Infrared
Illuminators:
Throughout this manual, the term V402 is used
to refer to all models of this series unless
specifically stated otherwise.
These units should be installed using approved
materials and wiring practices in accordance
with the National Electrical Code and
applicable local wiring ordinances.
INTRODUCTION
The V402 Series Illuminators are designed to
increase normal nighttime lighting for
security installations where sufficient
illumination is not available by other means.
The basic illuminator is a self-contained
200-Watt output unit which includes its own
power supply and a relay for remote operation.
The V402-IRN is designed for security
applications where the source of illumination
must not be exposed to view. For this reason,
this unit uses infrared illumination. The
standard narrow-beam lamp which is supplied
with the illuminator is suitable for use with
lenses of 50mm or longer focal lengths. For
lenses having focal lengths from 12.5mm
(Model V402-IRW).
These illuminators are controlled
automatically by a photocell. The photocell
monitors the available light and energizes the
unit when the illumination falls below a
predetermined level.
