SYMPTOM
Engine overheating

PROBABLE CAUSE
Loose or broken fan belt
Dirty radiator core
Dirty oil cooler
Low water level
Dirty aftercooler
Low fluid level
Faulty water pump
Plugged radiator
Defective engine thermostat
Faulty switch indicated by light
Engine safety switch (low coolant) fault
Count number of flashes. This will flash
trouble code.
Regeneration Switch in the inhibit
position.
Soot load >100%
Compressor discharge temperature
switch is open
Low cooling airflow due to low hydraulic
fluid level
Low cooling airflow due to incorrectly
programmed machine.
Wiring or connector issue to fan control
solenoids.
Sensor (compressor, CAC, ambient,
coolant, package discharge)
malfunction.
Low fluid level.
Faulty thermostat element.
Dirty cooler core.
Plugged internal cooler passages.
REMEDY
Tighten or change belt.
Clean thoroughly.
