Brake

WARNING
!
Crash caused by brake failure
Oil or lubricant on the brake disc in a disc brake
or on the rim of a rim brake can cause the brake
to fail completely. This may cause a crash with
serious injuries.
 Never allow oil or lubricant to come into
contact with the brake disc or brake linings or
on the rim of a rim brake.
 If the brake linings have come into contact with
oil or lubricant, contact specialist dealer to
have the components cleaned or replaced.
If the brakes are applied continuously for a long
time (e.g. while riding downhill for a long time),
the fluid in the brake system may heat up. This
may create a vapour bubble. This will cause air
bubbles or water contained in the brake system to
expand. This may suddenly make the lever travel
wider. This may cause a crash with serious
injuries.
 Release the brake regularly when riding
downhill for a longer period of time.
 Use the front and rear wheel brakes
alternately.
The motor drive force is shut off during the ride as
soon as the rider no longer is no longer pedalling.
The drive system does not switch off when
braking.
 In order to achieve optimum braking results, do
not pedal while braking.
