If not using one of the methods provided, create a new QuickSwap method
from the closest checkout method provided, or from an appropriate

7. Set and Apply the Purge Gas Pressure

Hydrogen is both a fire and explosion hazard when mixed with air. For this reason,

hydrogen must not be used as the purge gas.
Use the MSD ChemStation to enter and apply a pressure setpoint. If using an
auxiliary EPC, the QuickSwap pressure is Aux #5.
To use one of the supplied checkout methods, view the .pdf file (available on
the QuickSwap User Information CD-ROM) for that method and set the
pressure accordingly.
If you are not using a supplied checkout method, we suggest a purge gas
pressure of 4.0 psig as a starting point. This ensures effective exclusion of air
with the column removed. See the

8. Confirm that the Actual Pressure Matches the Setpoint

Use the MSD ChemStation (or the GC front panel) to view the Actual
(measured) pressure and compare it with the Setpoint (desired) pressure. If
they are the same, continue. If not, go to the troubleshooting section in the
Reference
