  • Page 4 This document is intended to give details and guidance to a boat builder or equipment installer to install the Seakeeper, Inc. Model 7000 Stabilizing Gyro. The gyro is capable of producing loads up to 23.5 kN (5300 lbs.) on each foundation saddle and careful consideration should be given to foundation design to insure vessel is capable of handling the loads the gyro will impart into the hull.

The starboard saddle bond area is 2002 cm Seakeeper has an optional installation jig available, P/N 90012, that is intended to duplicate the gyro foundation geometry in order to check clearances and alignment. The jig will allow the builder / installer to lay-up and adjust the foundation dimensions to create a low-clearance fit between the gyro foundation saddles and the hull structure.

For colder climates, a higher percentage of glycol up to a maximum of 50% should be used to provide adequate freeze protection.

Thermal Valve should always be in full CW position: Listen to glycol pump after gyro has reached operating temperature (minimum 1 hour at speed). If intermittent cavitation is heard, air may again need to be purged by allowing glycol to recirculate to reservoir during precession.
