Award BIOS
CPU Type. Displays the type of processor installed. This field is not

selectable; there is no help associated with it.
CPU Speed. Displays the processor clock speed. This field is not
•
selectable; there is no help associated with it.
Cache RAM. Displays Level 2 cache size. This field is not selectable;
•
there is no help associated with it.
Base Memory. Displays the base memory size. This field is not
•
selectable; there is no help associated with it.
Extended Memory. Displays the extended memory size. This field is
•
not selectable; there is no help associated with it.
Advanced Menu
The Advanced Menu contains the following items:
Plug & Play O/S. Select Yes if you are using a Plug & Play operating
•
system such as Windows 95 and Windows 98. Select No if you need
the BIOS to configure a non-boot device.
Reset Configuration Data. Select Yes to clear the system
•
configuration data.
On-Chip Primary IDE. Enable or disable the integrated local bus
•
Primary IDE adapter.
On-Chip Secondary IDE. Enable or disable the integrated local bus
•
Secondary IDE adapter.
Memory Hole at 15M-16M. Enable to free address space in RAM for
•
an expansion card.
Standard Applications. Applies to Year 2000 transition. Select No
•
if your applications interface directly with the Real Time Clock
hardware, bypassing the BIOS and the operating system. This
slightly affects PC performance. Keep on Yes otherwise.
Processor Serial Number. A unique number identifying the latest
•
processors, for example, the Pentium III. This feature can be
disabled to prevent the serial number being read by remote
processes.
