Installing the
Processor
NOTE
1 Ensure that the edges of the processor are lined-up with the slot 1
connector guide rails along the retention mechanism.
2 Place one hand on the processor's heatsink and push down into the
slot 1 connector. You will hear a click as the retention mechanism
pops back, thereby locking the processor into the slot 1 connector
3 Replace the power supply unit if you have removed it.
4 Connect the power supply cords and any connection to a
telecommunications network.
5 Replace the cover (page 4).
If you change your processor or system board, you need to update your
BIOS. The latest BIOS for your PC and instructions on updating the
BIOS are available from:
When updating the BIOS due to a processor change, you will need to use
the option
to clear the CMOS.
