Start-up, calibration and operation of the burner

5.1

Notes on safety for the first start-up

The first start-up of the burner must be carried out
by qualified personnel, as indicated in this manual
and in compliance with the standards and regula-
tions of the laws in force.

5.2

Adjustments prior to ignition (light oil)

It is recommended to adjust first the light oil burner
and then the gas burner.
Carry out the fuel change with burner off.

5.3

Servomotor adjustment (SQM 40)

The servomotor (Fig. 30) adjusts at the same time through re-
turns, air flow and pressure of the fuel in use.
Completes a rotation of 90° in 30 s. After the adjustment made in
the factory to its 6 cams to allow an initial ignition.
Check that they are as shown below.
In the event of a modification, follow what is described below for
each cam:
Cam I
(RED): 135° (The same for all models)
Limits the rotation towards the maximum.
Do not make any adjustments.
WARNING
Cam II
(BLUE): 0° (The same for all models)
Limits the rotation towards the minimum.
With the burner off the air damper
should be completely closed: 0°
It is recommended that no adjustments are
made.

Air / fuel adjustment

During the operations for calibrating the air/fuel ratio for oil burn-
ers, the following adjustments need to be made.
5.4.1

Oil pump outlet pressure

Turn the screw 1)(Fig. 31) on the pump.
For adjusting the pressure, see pag. 18.

Check the correct working of the adjustment, com-
mand and safety devices.
WARNING
Refer to paragraph "Safety test - with gas ball
valve closed" on page 34 before the first start-
up.
WARNING
The optimum calibration of the burner requires an analysis of the
flue gases at the boiler outlet and interventions on the following
points.
5.2.1

Nozzle

Cam III
(ORANGE): 20° (The same for all models)
Adjusts the start up position and the minimum
output of the fuel 1 (for single fuel burners).
Cam IV
(YELLOW): 130° (The same for all models)
Adjusts the position of the maximum output of
the fuel 1 (for single fuel burners).
Cam V
(BLACK): 20° (The same for all models)
Adjusts the minimum output and ignition position
of the fuel 2 (for single fuel burners).
Cam VI
(GREEN): 130° (The same for all models)
adjusts the Max. output position of the fuel 2 (for
single fuel burners).
