My remote will open B&D Control a Door S series but will not close it. I must use wall switch to close. It previously worked well for over 5 years

The B&D Controll-A-Door S series remote may not close the door if:

1. The transmitter is not programmed — refer to Section 8 to program it.
2. There is an obstruction — the door should reverse or stop if obstructed.
3. Obstruction sensing is faulty — discontinue use and contact your dealer.
4. The opener is in manual mode — re-engage the opener for remote operation.

Check these conditions to identify the issue.

1. The transmitter button is not programmed to operate the door.
2. The incorrect button on the transmitter is being pressed.
3. The transmitter is faulty.
4. The transmitter battery is flat.
5. The opener is in “Vacation Mode.”
6. The transmitter code has not been stored in the opener’s memory.
7. The transmitter is not aimed properly (e.g., not through the windscreen when in a vehicle).
8. External conditions (e.g., temperature or interference) are affecting transmitter range.
9. The battery in the transmitter is exhausted.
