4.1 Overview

Use the Monitor screens to check status and statistics information.

4.1.1 What You Can Do in this Chapter

• The Network Status screen
and packet statistics.
• The Radio List screen
transmitters in the NWA/WAC.
• The Station Info screen
stations.
• The WDS Link Info screen
WDS (Wireless Distribution System) connections.
• The Detected Device screen
rogue APs.
• The View Log screen
You can change the way the log is displayed, you can e-mail the log, and you can also clear the
log in this screen.

4.2 What You Need to Know

The following terms and concepts may help as you read through the chapter.
Rogue AP
Rogue APs are wireless access points operating in a network's coverage area that are not under the
control of the network's administrators, and can open up holes in a network's security. See
9 on page 106
Friendly AP
Friendly APs are other wireless access points that are detected in your network, as well as any
others that you know are not a threat (those from neighboring networks, for example). See
Chapter 9 on page 106
