Overview

The Model 4200-RPC-2 Remote Preamp Cable is used to connect a source measurement unit (SMU) installed
in a Model 4200A-SCS Parameter Analyzer to a remotely mounted 4200-PA preamplifier.
The 4200-RPC-2 is 2 meters long and is terminated at each end with a high-density DB15 connector. One end
mates to the preamplifier CONTROL connector on the 4200-PA. The other end mates to the PA CNTRL
connector on the matching SMU installed in the system. An example configuration is shown in the
following figure.

Each preamplifier is matched to a specific SMU. When changing connections, maintain the
connections between the remotely mounted preamplifier and the SMU to which it was
originally connected.
You must use a strain relief (not included) at the preamplifier connection of the 4200-RPC-2 cable.
