4. Ensure the host adapter and the server are configured correctly for a SAS bus
operation. Refer to the host adapter and server documentation for instructions.
If the tape drive was ordered with Feature Code 5760, it has a single USB 3.0 port
and a single SAS port. To use SAS connectivity, refer to "Connecting the SAS bus
cable" on page 2-4.
The USB architecture does not support multiple tape drives connected to a single
host USB port. Each tape drive is required to have a dedicated USB connection to
the host. Connecting the tape drive to a USB hub is not supported. It is
recommended that a USB 3.0 compatible cable is used to connect the host to the
tape drive. Whether a USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 compatible cable is used to connect this
device, it must be 3 meters or less in length.
To connect the cable:
1. Ensure that the tape drive is powered OFF.
