READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO USING THE APPLIANCE FOR THE FIRST TIME
Before Initial Use:
Remove all packaging, hang tags, plastic straps, and sales stickers if present. Do not use sharp tools.
Wash cooking grates with warm, soapy water, rinse and allow to completely dry before placing them

factory residue that occurs during production and enhances flavoring, durability and overall
performance. Refer to Page 29 for the time and cook temperature required for seasoning.
Before Each Use:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO USING THIS APPLIANCE
• After long periods without use, or when removing from storage, it is essential to perform a thorough
check of the auger from inside the hopper and fire pot. Look for any signs of blockage by foreign
objects and check that air is flowing properly into and out of the fire pot.
• Use the rear hopper door to remove pellets and run the appliance to clear pellets from the auger,
when placing the unit in storage or between use.
• Always keep the grill covered when not in use and avoid getting water into the hopper. Pellets will
greatly expand, if water is introduced inside the hopper. Long exposure to humidity will also cause
the pellets to expand and may clog or jam the auger during use. See the Care and Maintenance
section on Page 30 for more information.
• The appliance must be on a level, stable, noncombustible surface in an area clear of combustible
material, including long or dry grass.
• Avoid moving the appliance over bumpy or uneven surfaces. Damage to the appliance may occur
as a result.
• To prevent household circuit breakers from tripping, keep electric appliance controls and cord
connections dry and do not use other electrical products on the same circuit.
• Lightly coat each cooking grate with vegetable oil or vegetable oil spray, to prevent foods from
sticking to the grates during cooking. Remove the grates before coating.
• DO NOT cover the cooking grates with metal foil.
• DO NOT remove the safety screen inside the hopper.
• DO NOT modify, drill, expand or reposition the fire pot or any of the internal or external components
of this appliance. Failure to follow this warning could result in injury or create a fire hazard and will
void your warranty.
