OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Temperature Settings
Understanding each of the temperature settings will enhance your grilling and smoking experience.
Required temp levels will vary, based on the size and type of food. To ensure the safe consumption
of food, utilize the meat probes to determine proper food temperatures. Refer to the guide on Page
29 for cooking and meat temperatures.
NOTE: Windy or cold weather conditions may affect pre-heat and overall cook times. Allow plenty
of time for pre-heating the grill prior to cooking. Avoid frequently opening the lid, unless absolutely
necessary.
Using the FEED Button
If opening the lid is anticipated, press and hold the "FEED" button for 10-15 seconds and wait at
least one minute before pressing again. This will engage the auger and deliver pellets to the fire pot,
thus bringing the temperature up to compensate for heat loss. The temperature will level out, per the
desired setting. CAUTION: Pressing the FEED button for more than the recommended time and
frequency will over-load the fire pot and could cause a fire.
Using the Meat Thermometer
Your grill is equipped with two meat probes and two probe jacks on the
control panel. The left jack will read as "P1" on the display and the right
jack is "P2". Plug the probe into the desired jack and feed the probe
through the silicon opening on the side of the grill body.
To gain the most accurate reading possible, push the probe towards the
thickest part of the meat and allow at least 30 seconds for the probe to
measure the actual meat temperature. If your meat has a bone, avoid
touching the end of the probe to the bone while cooking.
Refer to the chart on Page 29 for proper food temperatures. For more information on food safety

Direct Cook System
Your pellet grill is equipped with a damper flywheel on the grease
tray. Opening the damper will quickly raise the cooking surface
temperature for searing or grilling thicker pieces of meat. Use
caution when opening the damper. When in use, the appliance
can become very hot. Use heat resistant gloves or metal tongs
to remove the cooking grates and when opening or closing the
damper. Use caution when cooking with the flywheel open while
the lid is closed.
WARNING: DO NOT keep the lid closed for more than one
minute while the flywheel is open. Never leave grill unattended
while using the direct cook system.
