Disposal

Batteries

Li-ion batteries must be disposed of according to local policies and protocols.

Collection Canister

Single patient use accessories, such as the collection canister, canister lid, and associated
suction tubing, should not be cleaned or sterilized for re-use. Dispose of the canister, lid and
associated suction tubing according to hospital policy or local protocols for the disposal of
medical waste.
To prepare the collection canister, lid with built-in filter, and suction tubing for disposal:
1. Turn off the aspirator and disconnect all suction tubing from the collection canister.
Seal vacuum and patient ports on the collection canister lid with the attached port caps.

Remove canister from the canister holder and transport to disposal area along with the suction

tubing.
Place the collection canister and suction tubing in a biohazard bag and then seal it.

At the end of its useful life the aspirator must be disposed of according to hospital policy or
local protocol.

Actions to Take
1. Use Parameter Buttons and Rotary
Encoder to increase vacuum level by turning
clockwise.
2. Check for leaks.
1. Plug device into an appropriate outlet for
charging. Verify that the External Power Icon
is displayed.
2. Verify that the power source is live.
3. Charge the battery ~2 hours before
attempting to run on battery to maximize run
time.
