44. Front Wheel Bearing Oil : Drain and
refill front wheel bearing oil every
12 months or 48,000 km (30,000 miles)
whichever occurs first. Inspect oil level and
take oil sample every 16,000 km
(10,000 miles). Check oil sample for water or
metal shavings.
Wheel bearings should last for the entire life
of the vehicle.
45. Air Conditioner Blower Filter : The air
conditioner blower filter should be removed
and cleaned once a month.
46. Exhaust Injector : Clean the exhaust
injector every 176,000 km (110,000 miles).
47. DEF Tank Filter Element : Replace the
DEF in-tank filter every 48 000 km
(30,000 miles) or three years whichever
occurs first.
48. DEF Quality Sensor : Replace the DEF
in-tank sensor unit every 32 000 km
(20,000 miles) or two years whichever
occurs first.
49. DEF Tank Cap : Clean or replace the DEF
tank cap every 48 000 km (30,000 miles) or
36 months whichever occurs first.
50. Starter : The color displayed by the
starter indicator light will change from green
to amber when the number of times
remaining is 0 or below and the screen is
selected.
When the indicator light (amber) comes on,
have the vehicle inspected/serviced at the
nearest dealer.
51. Rear Spring Slip Pad : Lubricate the
grease fitting on the leaf springs every
8 000 km (5,000 miles) or 12 months
whichever occurs first.
52. Function of Brake Valves : Inspect the
brake valve function every 16 000 km
(10,000 miles) or 12 months. Check for
movement, cracks, damage, and corrosion.
Also, check for air leaks. Repair or replace as
necessary.
Service and Maintenance
53. Function of Parking Brake Valve : Inspect
the paring brake valve for function every
12 months. Replace the parking brake valve
every 24 months.
54. Rubber Parts of Brake Valve : Service
the brake application valve by replacing the
internal rubber seals and replace the parking
brake valve every 24 months.
55. Air Brake System Inspection : Visually
check for physical damage, such as broken
air lines and broken or missing parts every
16 000 km (10,000 miles) or 6 months,
whichever occurs first.
56. Slack adjuster Lube : Lubricate the slack
adjusters and brake camshafts using at the
grease fittings. Apply lubricant until clean
lubricant flows from the grease relief
opening. Lubricate the clevis pins with
grease by hand or a spray lubricant and
check to see the pins are not seized.
Perform this maintenance every 16 000 km
(10,000 miles) or 6 months whichever comes
first.
