MAINTENANCE
STAIRLIFT MAINTENANCE CHECKLIST
Rail |
[_] Remove old grease from gear rack. Lubricate with thin bead of grease from top to bottom.
[ _] On back of rail, clean charge strips, communication strips, and slow down strips with Scotch-
Brite™ or similar scouring pad. To help prevent oxidation, wipe all strips with a rag sprayed
with Pledge® lemon polish.
[_] Check that all rail mounting hardware is properly tightened to installation specifications.
[_] Clean all rail surfaces, except gear rack, with Pledge® lemon polish or similar wax- "based
cleaner once per month.
Carriage
[_] Using a multi-surface cleaner such as Formula 409®, SuperClean degreaser or ULINE tuff
wipes, clean and inspect all carriage support wheels for flat spots and. proper rotation.
Replace if necessary.
[ | Load test batteries with battery load tester such as Auto Meter RC300 or, set DVOM for volts.
Place meter leads on charge strips for indoor straight rails or clip meter leads on battery
terminals for CRE and Outdoor SRE. Check voltage with unit parked, then operate with
someone sitting in the seat. If the batteries are good, the voltage should not change by |
more than 2v.
[ ] Inspect carriage charge contacts for oxidation or dirt buildup. Clean and replace if necessary.
[ ] Inspect all connections to batteries and circuit board. Replace if discolored or broken. |
[| Check seat and footrest hardware for proper torque.
Charger |
[ ] Inspect charger connections. They should be solid and secure.
[ ] Confirm charger LED's are indicating unit is charging or fully charged.
Safeties
[ ] Test seat safety switch. The stairlift should not operate with seat swiveled out of the riding
position. | |
[ ] Test footrest safeties. When engaged, safety should stop the stairlift in one direction only.
[| Test carriage safeties. When engaged, safety should stop the stairlift in one direction only.
Remotes |
[ | Test both remotes for proper operation. The stairlift should operate without interruptions.
[| Test and replace batteries if necessary.
Power Options
[_] If equipped, test power options for proper operation. Repair if necessary.
