TROUBLESHOOTING

Incident
Engine does not start.
1. No fuel.
2. The throttle control lever is in the
"STOP" position.
3. Fuel shut-off valve is closed.
4. Spark plug cord incorrectly attached or
disconnected.
5. Spark plug defective or incorrect
electrode gap.
6. Engine flooded.
Hard starting or loss of
1. Dirt in petrol tank.
power.
2. The air cleaner is dirty.
3. Water in petrol tank and carburetor.
4. Vent in fuel cap and/or carburetor
clogged (*).
Erratic operation.
1. Spark plug faulty or improperly
gapped.
2. The air cleaner is dirty.
Engine overheats.
1. Spark plug improperly gapped.
2. The air cleaner is dirty.
3. Dirty cooling fins (*).
4. Low oil level.
5. The flywheel's protector grid, located
under the recoil starter, is restricted by
cutting means of grass, etc.. (*)
Excessive vibration.
1. Loose cutting means or engine
mounting bolts.
2. Cutting means unbalanced.
(*) Maintenance of these points must be entrusted to your servicing dealer unless
the user has the necessary tools and is mechanically competent.

Do not tilt the lawnmower since this may
cause fuel or oil spillage; spilt fuel or even fuel vapours are a

fire hazard.

TRANSPORTING THE LAWNMOWER

1. Place the throttle control lever
in "STOP" position.
2. Pull off the spark plug cap.

3. Close the fuel shut-off valve.
To facilitate the operation, remove
the grass catcher

NOTE: When folding the handle,

check that the cables are not
knotted, twisted or too tight.

HRH536:
4. Loosen the 4 fixing screw [1] to
fold the handle.
HRD536:
5. Unscrew the knobs [2], remove
the screws and fold handle [3].

LOADING THE LAWNMOWER

CAUTION:
• To prevent losing control of or damaging the lawnmower, do not
-
use the drive system when going up or down a loading ramp.
• To prevent damaging the drive system, do not engage the clutch
when the lawnmower is rolling backwards.
• Transport the lawnmower in normal horizontal position with its
4 wheels flat on the vehicle platform.
• We recommend that you use a loading ramp or that you get
someone to help you load and unload the lawnmower.
• Adjust the loading ramp so that it is inclined at an angle of less
than 15° (26%).
• When transporting the lawnmower, immobilise it using straps and
place chocks under the wheels.
• The straps must not touch the following parts of the lawnmower:
throttle control lever, cutting-means control lever, fuel tank and all
the control cables.

PREPARATION FOR STORING
THE LAWNMOWER
Carry out the following operations to protect the lawnmower each
time it is to be stored for a period of more than 30 days.
Do not drain the fuel tank while the muffler is hot.
