Therefore with variable concentration, the powder concentration can also be allocated to
each animal individually as well as the amount of feed. Thus when entering the individual
feeding details, you must specify the milk powder concentration as well as the amount of
feed. This can be done either by entering the details manually for each individual animal or
also by means of automatic feeding graph calculation, eg depending on the age of the an-
imal. Unlike constant concentration, in order to calculate the milk powder consumption cor-
rectly, you must enter "0.001" under Basic Powder Concentration in the Setup menu for
the feeding box.
The settings for the Amount of Feed and the Supplementary Feed correspond to the set-
tings from the details described under "constant concentration" (see above).
With variable concentration, you also have the option to replace a freely definable percen-
tage of the feed with milk. This percentage can also be specified for each animal indivi-
dually. A fourth feed type is required in order to do this. This will appear automatically if
the automatic calf feeder is equipped with the corresponding program chip (character string
"f4" at the end of the chip number). In order to enter the setting for the feeding box in DAI-
RYPLAN, you must click on the light blue "M- ->" symbol. Under Motor 4 you must select
the feed type declared as "Milk" (See also: "Setup Feed Type" earlier on in the manual).
The "Portion Weight" and "Interval Time" fields must be left blank.
NOTE: Feed options 2 + 3 have no significance with regard to constant or variable concen-
tration.
During installation, you must always check that feed option 1 has been set correctly! As a
rule, the value 2 for older feeds is to be removed here and preset values for feed option 3!
3. Feeding details for individual animals
The following applies when specifying amounts of feed for the individual feed types:

2 = Only entitled calves can take remaining portions. The powder concentra-
tion in the feed is controlled by the feeding details for individual animals for
the milk powder feed type.

powder feed type.
