On a ebike with a disc brake, the brake rotor is
screwed permanently to the wheel hub.
You increase brake pressure by pulling the brake
lever. The brake fluid is used to transfer pressure
through the brake line to the cylinders in the
brake caliper. The braking force is boosted by a
speed reduction and applied to the brake pads.
These apply the brake rotor mechanically. If the
brake lever is pushed, the brake pads are
pressed against the brake rotor and the wheel
movement is decelerated until it comes to a stop.
